To All Our Guests Who Bring Their Pets:
There is a $10.00 charge for pets

  • You must advise the front desk that you will be bringing a pet(s) when you make your reservation or if you are staying overnight. Not all pets are necessarily allowed (size and type)
  • Your pet must never be unleashed or left alone in the unit
  • You are responsible for any and all damage that occurs because of your pet, and that an added charge will be levied if there is extra cleaning involved because of your pet
  • Pets are not allowed to be walked on the front (lake-side) of the resort because people are walking barefoot. There is adequate space to the rear of the resort for you to take your dog. Of course, you are responsible to pick up your dog's droppings.
  • If your dog does disturb guests (barking, howling, or aggressive behavior), you may be asked to place your dog in a kennel in Sault Ste. Marie
  • Please do not use any of our towels to clean or wipe your pet.
  • You may bring your dog to the beach area via the walkway by the Club Gazebo Restaurant and again you are responsible for any droppings your dog leaves.
  • We love animals, but not all of our guests do! By being respectful of all our guests needs we want to insure everyone enjoys their vacation, including your pet!

We are proud of the purity and cleanliness of our drinking water. It is filtered and then subjected to UV light and tested monthly by a government lab.

A Note on Our Commitment to the Environment

Here at Lake Shore Salzburger Hof Resort, we have practiced conservation long before it became fashionable and enforced. Both restaurants separate bottles, cans, cardboard and plastics for our recycling program. All unusable produce goes into our compost bins for recycling to our gardens. All other food from the restaurants is taken daily to a wild animal feeding area away from the resort. Starting in 2008, we have placed recycling containers by our units so that guests can do their share in helping the environment. There has been a lot of positive feedback from our guests since we have instituted this since most people are used to recycling in their respective cities. Because of the recycling, we have cut our trips to the dump by 25%!
We hang our sheets out on lines to dry so that you can smell the sunshine when you lay your head down after a fabulous day in Batchawana! Over the past years, we have been trying different 'green' cleaning agents and phosphate free detergents. We also limit the fertilizing we do on our lawns because of potential environmental damage. The environment is extremely important to us and we will continue to keep up to date with new technology.
